Why The Lighthouses?
Our nation is experiencing difficult times like never before. In times past churches filled up during troubled times like these, but now we are seeing a new dynamic develop. Believers and non-believers alike are living in fear and uncertainty, yet they’re unwilling to turn to the local church for answers. Church attendance is declining as people struggle to understand its relevance or ability to make a substantial difference in their lives. So LAF believes that we must help believers mature in Christ. When we as Christians learn to live selflessly, victorious, in spite of our circumstances, we become a lighthouse to a dark and doubting world. When the outside world sees a difference in us, and they desire that for themselves, they will be drawn to what makes us different. That is when we have the best opportunity to share our faith, and lead them to a saving knowledge of, and personal relationship with, Jesus Christ. At LAF we believe in the life-transforming power of God, and that a personal relationship with Jesus enables us to experience forgiveness & new life in Him. We seek to be all God has created us to be, and reach out in love to those around us because every person matters to God.
